3121 debuted at #1, Musicology at #3. Funny, because I think Planet Earth is the best of the three by far, followed by Musicology, then 3121 a distant last–people must have liked “Black Sweat” quite a bit?
More later, but one of the best things about this album is the recording quality–it all sounds so natural, non-processed, analog. Not to mention it’s his best songwriting in awhile, and the music brings in the best of all the types of prince-song-styles he’s developed over the years…
More: “Planet Earth” is his 34th album to reach The Billboard 200, dating back to the Oct. 28, 1978, entrance of “For You.”
