Tin Tin, Black Swan Green, Bonnie Tyler, and Fleetwood Mac

Teesside Tin Tin 41. I was looking into the cartoon character Tin Tin and found this video. They’re speaking English but I can hardly understand it with the heavy UK accents from across the pond. I’m reading an excellent book that takes place in the UK and features some rambunctious kids that I imagine might talk this way, cursing and all (Black Swan Green by David Mitchell), so this dovetails nicely.

Wow, I had forgotten just how excellent Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse of the Heart is. From the opening piano riffs, the harmony singing/overdubs, and her raspy voice. It’s like a long-lost Fleetwood Mac song but way eigthies-ified.

Last but not least here’s a crazy good live video of Fleetwood Mac, i.e. the American Beatles performing Dreams live in 1977. According to the tinykatlady it “rocks so mellow.” I can’t believe there hasn’t been a whole Yacht Rock series based on Fleetwood Mac…
